Adorable Halloween Treats for Stampers Dozen October Blog Hop

Stamper's Dozen Blog Hop Logo for Stampin' Up! demonstrators - Slip into Fall

The theme for this month’s blog hop is to use traditional Halloween colors – Pumpkin Pie, Basic Black and Gorgeous Grape – and what better way than to make treats! It just so happens that my children’s librarian friend is looking for ideas for treats for her coworkers, so I decided to tackle both challenges at the same time.

When Beth needs treats, she needs 70! So, it was important for me to keep the project ideas simple enough that we could crank them out. I also knew that the new Stampin’ Up! Halloween Memories scrapbooking kit would be the perfect base for our creations – have you seen the books DSP (did I mention she’s a LIBRARIAN)?!! Here’s what’s in that kit:

Not only does the kit come with fabulous DSP, it comes with the new two-toned cardstock! Guess what colors are included? PUMPKIN PIE, BASIC BLACK, GORGEOUS GRAPE, Granny Apple Green and Pool Party! Perfect for this month’s challenge!

So I admit that I keep a stock of assorted candies in my office. If you are ever in my office, DON’T eat the candy without asking – some of it is years old!!! But then I always have different treats to try…

Here are the very simple treats ideas I came up with for us to choose from:

Stampin' UP! treats made with Halloween Memories scrapbooking kit and Basic Black, Gorgeous Grape and Pumpkin Pie

The smallest one is a Hershey’s Nugget holder. I also used the very versatile Choose Happy stamp set to coordinate with the DSP and cardstock as it has the perfect little pumpkin. The cardstock is cut to 2″ x 5 1/2″ and scored on the long edge at 2 1/4″ and 3 1/4″. Fold it up and punch a hole at the top, tie with ribbon and pop your nugget inside with a dimensional underneath it! Decorate as desired – I used a 1 5/8″ circle from the Stylish Shapes dies. Tada!

Next up, I needed to get that books DSP involved! So I made my go-to matchbook treats cover:

This one uses 2 of the DSP patterns from the scrapbook kit, as well as the Pumpkin Pie cardstock. The cardstock is 7 1/8″ x 4″, scored at 3/4″, 3 3/4″ and 4″. The DSP is cut to 2 1/2″ x 3″ and mounted on Basic Black cardstock (2 1/2″ x 3 1/4″) and Gorgeous Grape cardstock (2 1/2″ x 3 3/4″). Note that the books line up perfectly at 3″, so we needed a little extra matting.

I also folded UP the 3/4″ strip at the bottom and stapled it to create the matchbook holder, and covered the staple with a 1/2″ x 3 3/4″ strip of the striped DSP. Inside, I slipped a little snack bag of Gummy LifeSavers (also holds those perfect little M&M treats packs as well as Skittles).

Finally, I had found these adorable Reese’s Bats treats at my grocery store that needed to be packaged 🙂

Again, I needed to use those adorable books! So I found this in my archives and repurposed it for Halloween.

Stampin' Up! treats made with Halloween Memories scrapbooking kit.

This is made with the two-toned cardstock (see how the bottom is a different shade of black than the top?) that measures 3″ x 8 ÂĽ” and is scored at 1 3/8″, 1 7/8″, 3 1/4″, and 3 3/4″. You just fold up on the score lines and it creates a little box to slide your treat into! The DSP at the top measures 2 3/4″ x 3″ and the striped DSP on the front of the box is 1″ x 2 3/4″. I used the Choose Happy stamp set again to add a little something (but not cover those BOOKS!).

Which one do you think we should choose to make this year for the 70 coworkers?
