Stampin' Up! Coneflower Celebrations card with large pink coneflower

If you enjoy layered coneflower designs and dimensional handmade cards, today’s project is one you’ll want to try. In this tutorial, I’m sharing a Coneflower card created with the Coneflower Celebrations bundle from Stampin’ Up, featuring bold floral layers, embossed texture, and simple embellishments that bring the whole design together.

This card was designed for one of the projects in my monthly Stamp-a-Stack classes, and it’s a great example of how a single focal image can create a striking card with just a few coordinating elements.

Below you can watch the full video tutorial where I walk through the entire project step by step.

The Coneflower Celebrations bundle includes a beautiful coneflower image along with coordinating dies that create multiple layers for the petals, center, leaves, and stems. The bundle also includes several sentiments that work well for celebration cards, thank you cards, and everyday greetings.

One of the unique elements in this bundle is a large die that creates a folded coneflower shape. In this project, I cut the piece apart and slightly offset the layers to add dimension and visual interest to the flower.

Card Design Details

This card uses a combination of color, texture, and layered elements to create a balanced design.

The card base is Strawberry Slush, one of the current In Colors, paired with Basic White on the inside. For the background, I embossed Bubble Bath cardstock using the Lovely Stripes embossing folder. The vertical stripes add subtle texture while keeping the design clean and simple.

The coneflower itself is created using two tones of Strawberry Slush cardstock, which gives the petals natural variation and depth. After stamping and die cutting the flower pieces, they are layered slightly offset so that the darker layer peeks out beneath the lighter one.

The center of the flower is cut from a darker cardstock using the coordinating die, and the flower is mounted on the card using dimensionals to give it lift.

Adding the Leaves and Stem

To complete the floral focal point, the leaves and stem were die cut from Garden Green cardstock. The leaves include a detailed overlay that adds subtle texture while maintaining a tone-on-tone look.

Rather than making the leaves identical, they are placed at slightly different angles to mimic how leaves appear in nature. This small detail adds movement and keeps the card from looking too symmetrical.

Once the flower was assembled, the card was finished with a few simple details.

A sentiment reading “Celebrating You” was stamped in Strawberry Slush on Bubble Bath cardstock and mounted with dimensionals.

Behind the sentiment, a small loop of linen thread adds softness and a bit of texture without overwhelming the design.

Finally, a few Brushed Brass Butterfly embellishments provide a subtle touch of shine and help balance the card visually.

Projects like this show how the Coneflower Celebrations bundle can create bold floral cards with lots of dimension while still keeping the overall layout clean and elegant.
