I began a class last week which featured a pop-up card like this, and right away I saw myself using the Merriest Trees dies to recreate it! Plus, the design was simple and so impressive. I knew it would be perfect for my next Quick Class.
Some of the great features of this card are the super-easy pop-up mechanism and the faux-inlay technique.
As far as the pop-up mechanism goes, it’s just a 4″ x 3/4″ piece of Basic White cardstock, scored at 1″, 2″ and 3″. Check out the video below on how exactly to adhere it!
The faux-inlay technique can be done with any shapes. Simply adhere die cuts to a sheet of paper with any adhesive. Then, die cut a bigger shape around the smaller ones. This squashes the little die cuts into the paper and both makes them well-adhered AND gives an inlaid look!
