Fun Fold for March Stampers Dozen Blog Hop

Stamper's Dozen Blog Hop Logo for Stampin' Up! demonstrators - Slip into Fall

This is my ALL-TIME FAVORITE fun fold, the one I turn to whenever I want to quickly step up a card. When better to share it than for the March Stamper’s Dozen Blog Hop with a fun fold theme! I do feel like I’m cheating, though, because it’s so very simple. But I am a firm believer in keeping things simple…

Stampin' Up! fun fold card using Nature's Sweetness DSP and Everyday Details dies in brown and white with a teacup on the front of the gatefold

This fun fold is commonly referred to as a Gatefold card. It is made with a sheet of cardstock that is 4 1/4″ x 11″, scored at 2 3/4″ and 8 1/4″. Fold the two sides in to meet in the center and that’s it! Then you can embellish any way you like to create a card for any occasion.

When decorating the card front, be sure not to add any elements that seal the card shut! For the card above, I put adhesive only on the back of the left side of the circle. It’s an easy mistake to make, so just remember you want to be able to open the card and that should guide you.

Let’s discuss what fun products I’ve used here. The Nature’s Sweetness suite in the Jan-Apr 2024 Mini is a stunning mix of neutral colors – Pecan Pie, Pebbled Path and Gold. I chose the simple spattered newsprint to keep my card neutral, but you can see there are some fabulous designs from which to choose.

The focal point of this card is the teacup and circle dies from the Everyday Details bundle. I just really thought they blended nicely together and by adding a sentiment to the inside (or not. as I didn’t), it could be a card for any occasion. This card is also featured in my upcoming Bundle Class where we’ll make this and 4 other cards using the Everyday Details bundle.

And here’s another gatefold card, this one made with the Circle Sayings bundle and the Hello, Irresistible DSP. Just another great take on an easy fun fold!
