Mix Pattern Card Made Easy + New In Colors Sneak Peek

Stampin Up! Mix patterns card using Mixed Up Patterns dsp and new 2026-2028 In Color DSP

Learn how to mix patterned papers easily with this simple card layout, plus get a sneak peek at the new Stampin’ Up! In Colors. In this latest Quick Class, I’m sharing a simple, go-to layout that makes mixing patterned papers easy and approachable, along with a fun first look at the new In Colors coming in the upcoming May–August catalog.

Today’s Card: Simple Layout, Big Impact

The card I created uses a clean, repeatable design that lets your designer series paper do all the work. By cutting your paper into narrow strips and spacing them evenly, you can combine multiple patterns without the card feeling busy or overwhelming.

It’s one of those layouts you’ll find yourself coming back to again and again—perfect for using up your paper stash while creating something that looks polished and intentional. Thanks to Brian King for the inspiration!

Tips for to Mix Patterned Paper

If mixing patterns has ever felt tricky, here are a few takeaways from the class:

  • Stick to a consistent color palette to keep everything cohesive
  • Vary the scale of patterns (small + bold designs work beautifully together)
  • Use spacing intentionally to give each pattern room to shine
  • Repeat colors across elements to tie the whole design together

This layout does a lot of the work for you, making it a great starting point if you’re just getting comfortable with combining patterns.

New In Colors Preview

I also shared a first look at the new In Colors, and they are beautiful. From soft, subtle tones to richer, more vibrant shades, there’s a really nice mix this year.

We took those new colors and used them in the same card layout to show how easily you can swap in different papers and create a completely new look.

I’ll be offering a paper share that includes these new designs, so you can try them out for yourself without having to purchase full packs.

Why You’ll Love This Design

  • Works with any designer series paper
  • Easy to customize for different occasions
  • Great for beginners and experienced stampers alike
  • Perfect for using up scraps

It’s simple, versatile, and a great reminder that you don’t need complicated techniques to create something beautiful.
