Adorable Belly Bands for Stampers Dozen December Blog Hop

I’m so excited to make my first appearance in the Stampers Dozen blog hop! The theme is gift packaging and tags, and belly bands fit perfectly into both categories.

What are belly bands, you ask? They simply strips of paper wrapped around the middle of a package! Now, the package can’t be that big as DSP is typically only 12″ wide. But for those smaller ones, they are a quick and easy way to hand-make your gift extra-special.

For my recent Winter Market, I packaged a variety of hand-made cards in clear boxes which I found on Amazon. You could also use Stampin’ Up!’s envelope treat boxes or scalloped gift card boxes for other sized gifts. I then took 4″ x 12″ sheets of holiday DSP and wrapped them around the boxes, adhering the ends in the front or back (I like to do the front when I can cover the whole seam, but in the back when I can’t). Then, I decorate the front! You can add anything, like a tag, a focal point, ribbon, whatever. The sky’s the limit! Here are the 4 simple designs I made along with the supplies used.

Belly Bands – 1 – Season’s Greetings

Belly Bands – 2 – Merriest Trees

Belly Bands – 3 – Beary Christmas

Belly Bands – 4 – Christmas Classics

To make the edges nice and crisp, I did score each fold. To get the measurements, I simply wrapped the strip of DSP around the box, pinching where each fold was, and then scored at that point. For my boxes, I scored at 3″, 4 1/8″, 8 3/4″ and 9 1/2″.

Pretty in Pink for the Holidays

I know that Pretty in Pink, or any pink, is unusual for a holiday or Christmas card, but every year I seem to find myself using it at least once! This time, I saw a card from Mary Fish which used Pretty in Pink DSP along with the ice skates from the Sophisticated Sled...
