Stampin’ Up!’s new Perennial Lavender Designer Series Paper (DSP) is simply a hoard-fest waiting to happen! When the paper is so pretty that you can’t bear to use it, a simple card design like this one is the answer. Just a 1 1/2″ x 5 1/2″ strip is all you need and you make it the focal point of the card!
Check out the gorgeous designs and colors in this DSP:
I know I just love that the base is Crumb Cake – my favorite neutral color. It lets all the rest pop!
Now let’s discuss how to get those score lines that are framing the DSP strip on the card. The best way to get these perfectly straight lines is to use the Stampin’ Up! Simply Scored Scoring tool – a 12×12 scoring board for all your scoring needs! But if you don’t have one, you can also use the scoring blade on your paper trimmer. And if you don’t have that, you can use a bone folder or blunt point to score with a ruler on the underside of your paper. Any of these options will work to create that perfect frame.
Note that the “hello there” stamp is from the Sale-a-Bration Softly Sophisticated stamp set. This stamp set is part of a bundle that you can earn with an order of $100 or more. It’s a lovely addition to any collection!
Below is a tutorial on how to create this card. Want to try out this DSP for yourself? Sign up for my Zoom card class on 1/23/24 where one of the 3 card designs uses this paper! I hope to see you at a class sometime soon, but you can always find ideas here on my blog as well as on Facebook and Instagram.
