This being the final “official” week of summer, I just had to reach for my aptly named Summer Splash cardstock. It’s one of the 2024-2026 In Colors and my current favorite. However, I hardly use it! That changed today. For my Quick Class Live, I was featuring the torn-paper Template #13 from the Stampin’ Up! 2024-2025 Annual Catalog and had to grab my gorgeous designer series paper (DSP) from that In Color collection.
As you can see in the video, today’s template uses torn paper at the bottom of the card front. I know a lot of people just don’t like the idea of tearing paper, but it can be a great technique. First of all, the ragged edge can give a more casual look to a card. And when you use our DSP which has a white core, the torn edge also brings some division and texture to the background. I chose to use the contrasting colors Summer Splash and Pretty in Pink.
I also discussed the very exciting news that Stampin’ Up! is re-launching a scrapbooking line! With the “absorption” of Close to My Heart (CTMH – a now-defunct scrapbooking company, once our competitor), we are bringing in a whole lot of new options. And since there is a big overlap between stampin’ and scrappin’ (just ask my husband Scott!), we have so much more to use in our crafting. I bring it up here because the biggest addition is the CTMH papers in the Stampin’ Up! line of colors. And this is applicable today because 1) the paper is two-toned so you can use both sides to get slightly different shades of the same color, and 2) this paper has a white core – perfect for tearing!!!
And if all this isn’t enough, you’ll also get to see a sneak peek into the Sept-Dec 2024 mini catalog with the Snowy Scenes suite of products. Be sure to watch the whole video to soak up all this great information here:
Want to check out the upcoming Scrapbooking catalog? It’s digital only and you can find it here. While you can see it now, you cannot order from it until 9/4/24. I know I cannot wait!
