Easy Woolly Friends Card with Blending + Builder Punch Tips
Apr 22, 2026
Stampin' Up! Woolly Friends spring card with balmy blue and white plus a little sheep

If you’re looking for a cheerful spring card that’s simple to make but full of personality, this week’s Quick Class project is a perfect one to try.

In this class, I’m sharing a fun card using the Woolly Friends bundle, featuring an adorable sheep, soft blended background, and a few simple techniques that really bring the design to life.

Watch the replay:

I started with a Balmy Blue card base, layered with an embossed background to add texture and interest right away. The soft pattern gives the card dimension without overwhelming the focal point.

From there, I built a sweet little spring scene using stamping, blending, and a few carefully chosen layers.

Woolly Friends Bundle Highlights

The star of this card is the adorable sheep from the Woolly Friends set, paired with a coordinating builder punch that makes assembly quick and precise.

This punch allows you to:

  • Punch the body and face at the same time
  • Layer the pieces for dimension
  • Easily align everything for a clean finished look

One of the tips I shared in the video is using a template technique to stamp and punch the pieces in exactly the right position—such a helpful trick when working with builder punches.

Simple Techniques That Make a Difference

This card comes together with a few easy techniques that you can use on many projects:

  • Blended Background – Using a blending brush with Balmy Blue ink creates a soft sky effect without needing extra patterned paper.
  • Stamped Color Accents – Instead of coloring with markers, small coordinating stamps are used to fill in the tulips and leaves—quick, easy, and consistent.
  • Layering for Depth – A small piece of Designer Series Paper tucked behind the focal panel adds dimension and visual interest.
  • Finishing Touches – A bit of Wink of Stella on the sheep adds subtle sparkle, and a few iridescent pearls complete the design with just the right amount of shine.

Why This Card Works

  • Clean layout that’s easy to recreate
  • Soft color palette perfect for spring
  • Combination of texture, layering, and simple stamping
  • Versatile design you can adapt for different occasions

You can easily switch out the sentiment to make this card work for birthdays, baby cards, or just a simple note to brighten someone’s day.
